The newest option in the American Eagle bullion series is the Palladium Eagle. Introduced in 2017, the American Palladium Eagle made its long-awaited debut some seven years after it was authorized for release by Congress. Coin Highlights:
• Available to you inside protective plastic flips or tubes of 10.
• Low yearly mintage.
• Eligible for Precious Metals IRA.
• Contains 1 Troy oz of .9995 pure palladium in BU condition.
• The face value of $25 (USD) is fully backed by the US government.
• Obverse: A young depiction of Liberty with winged Phrygian cap, reminiscent of the Roman god Mercury. Adapted from Adolph Weinman's classic design first used on the Mercury Dime in 1916.
• Reverse: A majestic eagle perched atop a rock along with the weight, purity, and $25 face value. This design, also created by Adolph Weinman, has been used since 1907 on the American Institute of Architects' annual Gold Medal.

Congress authorized the American Palladium Eagle Coins in 2017. To date, the series has offered just one version of the coin per date mark. The collection has limited mintages each year. The 2021 date represents the first time in the history of the series that two coins are issued, with a proof coin already available and a BU specimen now released from the mint.

On the obverse of the American Palladium Eagle Coins is a depiction of Liberty known as Winged Liberty. Designed in 1916, this effigy shows a bust of Liberty in left-profile relief with a winged Phrygian cap on her head. The design originally appeared on the obverse of the US Dime from 1916 to 1945. The design was known by Americans of the day as the Mercury Dime because the Winged Liberty image resembled that of the Roman messenger god Mercury.

The reverse field of the 1 oz Palladium Eagle Coins features an image of the American bald eagle. The image shows a bald eagle on the edge of a cliff with a small sapling clutched in its talons and a branch from it clutched in its beak. The bird has its wings raised behind its figure.

Both designs on the American Palladium Eagle Coin come from Adolph A. Weinman. The obverse design was created in 1916, while the reverse design was created in 1907.
