2013 Canada 1.5 oz Silver $8 Polar Bear BU

Product Details

We are pleased to offer this 2013 1.5 oz Canadian Silver Polar Bear coin from the Royal Canadian Mint. This limited issue coin was the first “thick”, oversized coin produced by the RCM, and has become a collectors’ item over the years. Please note that the RCM struggled with “milk spotting” during this period, and as such, we cannot guarantee these coins will be immune from the milk spotting issue.

The 2013 1.5 oz Polar Bear features .9999 fine silver purity, as well as an $8 CAD face value. The coin features the iconic polar bear striding across the snow, with the obverse featuring the classic Queen Elizabeth II portrait.

Coin Highlights:
• Contains 1.5 oz. of .9999 pure silver.
• Individual coins ship in plastic sleeves, multiples of 15 in RCM tubes, and multiples of 300 in RCM Monster Boxes.
• Eligible for Precious Metals IRA.
• Carries a face value of $8 (CAD) backed by the Canadian government.
• Honors the most prominent resident of the Arctic Circle.
• Obverse: Susanna Blunt’s design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the $8 face value (CAD).
• Reverse: Depicts a majestic Polar Bear while weight and purity are listed below.

Polar bears are one of the few creatures capable of surviving the harsh conditions of the Arctic. Surviving on fat stores in its body and hunting seals for food, the polar bear scours the frozen tundra with little regard for the biting cold of the far north. Only 20,000 polar bears are believed to exist in the wild, and Canada is home to the largest population in the world.

On the reverse side of each coin is the image of a polar bear as its strides across a barren, frozen landscape. The image is encircled by the engravings of “Canada” and the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content.

The obverse side of the 2013 1.5 oz. Canadian Silver Polar Bear has Susanna Blunt’s depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. The third iteration of her right-profile portrait, updated by Blunt in 2003, Her Majesty’s image is surrounded by engravings of “Elizabeth II,” “8 Dollars,” and “2013.”

The Royal Canadian Mint is one of the finest facilities in the world. Founded in 1908 to refine precious metals found in the Yukon Territories, the RCM operates two state-of-the-art facilities in Winnipeg and Ottawa today.

Gracing the front of this silver coin is the Canadian Arctic fox in the comfort of its woodland home. It is depicted with its head peering behind it, perhaps to check for predators or to see how the newly fallen snow has changed the landscape.

From the soft texture of its plush coat to the snow-clad trees featured in the distance, collectors and wildlife enthusiasts are certain to be impressed by the detailed rendering of this feral creature and its wintry habitat. Such skillful engraving is enough to make the viewer feel as though he or she could reach out and touch its soft fur. Also inscribed on the front is the nation’s name along with the purity and weight of the coin.

The reverse side of the coin displays the effigy of Elizabeth II, where great care has been taken to capture her poised, yet serene countenance. She represents Canada’s continued allegiance to monarchy despite the end of its period under British rule. Framing her portrait is her name and the abbreviated Latin phrase, “D. G. Regina.”

On the obverse, you’ll find the familiar right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, it has featured on countless Canadian bullion and proof coins in the past 12 years.

2019 2oz Canadian Silver Orca Whale Coin

Product Details

The orca whale is one of the ocean’s many apex predators. With no natural enemies, the orca whale prowls the world’s oceans from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Renowned for its large size and distinctive black-and-white skin, the orca is a powerful predator.

Coin Highlights:
• Coins arrive inside of individual plastic flips or tubes of 15.
• Struck only in 2019!
• Distinctive 2 oz Canadian silver.
• Eligible for Precious Metals IRA.
• Contains 2 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver.
• Issued a face value of $10 (CAD) by Canada.
• Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
• Killer Whale on the reverse.

Orcas are commonly referred to as killer whales. The animals are from the oceanic dolphin family and are classified as toothed whales. Like the great white shark, the killer whale is an apex predator in the ocean. It hunts a variety of other mammals and animals in the ocean and has no natural predator that preys on it.

The release of the 2 oz Canadian Silver Orca Whale Coin from the Royal Canadian Mint boasts some of the same features of other major silver bullion coins from the mint. This includes the use of micro-engraved radial lines on both sides of the coins.

Queen Elizabeth II is found on the obverse of 2019 Canadian Silver Orca Whale Coins. The Queen’s portrait featured here was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt and serves as the fourth-generation depiction of the monarch on Canadian coinage. The design is just the second from a Canadian artist to feature on Canadian coins and is the first of her reign to lack a crown.

An orca is shown in the reverse design of the 2019 2 oz Silver Orca Whale Coin. The massive creature is shown breaking the surface of the water as it exhales and takes in more air to continue swimming beneath the waves. The background field showcases the nearby shoreline. Both sides of the coin have micro-engraved radial lines, with these filling the entire background on the obverse and occupying the edge of the design field on the reverse. There is also the new laser-etched maple leaf privy on the reverse that includes the “19” date mark at the center, a feature that is only visible under magnification.

To ensure the safe arrival of your purchase, Harvard Gold Group ships each mailing package discreetly with security in mind. Additionally, every mailing is insured so customers will be fully compensated in the rare event that their package is damaged or goes astray in the mail. The coins come in plastic flips for individual purchases or tubes of 14. We'll provide you with a tracking number when they are ready to ship.
